Remember the Wonders
Remember the wonders, the miracles he has done…
Psalm 105:5 (NIV)
Did you read that beautiful verse? Did you catch the phrase that repeats the heading of this page, Remember the Wonders?
Let me tell you a little story.
That verse and I go back to a snowy morning in Quincy, California, when I was snuggled up on my couch reading my Bible. As unexpected as the falling snow outside, the first three words, “Remember the wonders,” grabbed my heart with their beauty and meaning—and took up residence.
With the passing years, that sweet refrain has resounded and resonated as a theme throughout several seasons of my life, when I’ve had many occasions to remember God’s wonders. Wonders that often elicit a heartfelt “Wow” from me to my Lord.
Another gift came from God when he put three words to my WOW…Witness of Wonder. Ah, of course! Isn’t that the case when we most often say “Wow”? When we witness a glorious display of God’s wonders and can’t help but express our awe?
Sometimes we belt out an incredulous “Wow!” Other times it comes out as a whisper as soft as our breath…a “wow” so heartfelt it feels like worship.
God’s wonders are worthy of remembering, wouldn’t you agree, my friend? Join me?
“To Him who alone does great wonders,
For His mercy endures forever.”
